Hi,

We would like to use a DLP product with wavelenght from 150 - 300 nm. To do so we would need the window to be removed. Is it possible to remove it without damaging the DMD ? Also, is it possible to change the coating on the mirrors ? And currently what is your biggest DMD custom size available (Array diagonal) ?

Hi,

1. We intend to use it for a Multi Object Spectroscopy. The DLP product would be use to create many slits at the same time.

2. For the resolution, we would probably need mirror size of about 10 microns or less. Over that size, it would not allow the maximum resolution of our detector.

3. I'll get back to you when I'll have the information about the power requirements.

Hello Justin,

Removing the mirrors and changing the coating on the mirrors is not something that we typically support. This may be possible without damaging the DMD, but we cannot recommend doing so.

You may consider our DLP300s DMD since it is designed with UV wavelengths in mind. However, this DMD is typically used with a 385 or 405 nm wavelength LED's. To explore your other options, you may want to view our Chipset Selection Guide. Most of our mirrors have a sub 8um pitch.

At the moment, the model that we would go for is the DLP9500 series, since it seems to be the biggest size. We really need to use 150-300nm. Is there an overcoat on the mirrors that makes it have a bad reflectivity at those wavelenghts ?

Hello Justin,

There is no coating on mirrors. The Glass windows on the DMDs have AR coating for the qualified wavelength. Operating outside specification wavelength will result in

1. Lower efficiency

2. Short product life due to permanent damage to Mirror structure.

Did you mean "Removing the window" or you are indeed talking about the mirrors that can be removed ? If so, are you able to remove the window too without damaging the DMD ?

The windows can not replaced. It will damage the DMD.
