These appear to be a variety of errors related to the BIST and TPS99000 interface parity read/write. If you re-flash the firmware, do you receive the same or different errors?

For reference, here are the EVM current values I recorded when operating at 12V while the LED cable is disconnected:

• DMD connected, Display mode, Checker Test Pattern, PROJ_ON Green: 310mA
• DMD disconnected, StandBy, PROJ_ON Red: 240mA
• DMD connected or disconnected, StandBy: 180mA

Can you comment on your sourced current value?

What is the color of the PROJ_ON LED at the PROJ_ON switch of the formatter board; red or green? Does toggling this switch make any difference to the operating mode or error codes reported? Thanks for your help. My draw current is 0.26A. D6,D7 is green and D8 is red. I also flashed with the image "FlashImage_p55_1152_VSP_HL.bin". 

If the DMD is disconnected, how can I connect it back in the EVM assy?

Hi Anthony,

First, let us verify that the DMD is actually disconnected or improperly installed. Can you completely remove the DMD, then read out the error codes and current draw to see if they match your existing results? Then plug your DMD back into the socket and re-check for any changes.

For this debug, you do not need the have the LED driver connected.

We purchased the DLP5531LEQ1EVM evaluation kit. i can't seem to disassemble it to remove the DMD. How should I do it?

Here are the steps to access the DMD:

1) Remove the heat sink by unscrewing two screws on each side, and the four screws at the top:

Right (two screws):

Left (two screws):

Top (4 screws):

2) Remove the fan by unscrewing four bolts on the back:

3) Remove the DMD heat sink by unscrewing two bolts on the back:

4) Inspect the DMD and disconnect/reconnect:

i removed the DMD and the current is now 0.22A and I also put it back on with the current at 0.26A. it still goes into emergency shutdown in both cases.

We found out the cause. the DLP is loose and not assembled properly. The projector started to work when we pressed down on the DLP chip. 

What should we do?
