Hello:
Please help confirm a parameter value called EA for this material, DLP2010LCFQJ?
Hello Jimmy,
Welcome to DLP forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology.
Could you please help me understand - What is "EA" referring to?
regards,
Vivek
Hello Jimmy,
Would you be able to provide more context to the origins of this equation? Where was this screen grab taken from?

Hello Austin:
The customer needs to do accelerated aging test for DMD. Is there any recommended accelerated aging method and formula?
Hello JH,
Could you please explain customer's application including detail like wavelength and conditions. Why accelerated testing for DMD? Normally, our customer do the system level test not a component level like.
regards,
Vivek
Hello Vivek & Austin:
Our client is ready to conduct accelerated aging test on the whole machine equipped with DMD components.
The test process is as follows:
Set the equipment installed with DMD to the normal working state all the time (continuously cast light through RGB three color LED, and obtain various required fringe patterns through the turnover of DMD, and all light sources are visible light), simulate long-term operation, and accelerate aging (increase temperature and humidity). After the test, check the function of DMD.
The acceleration formula used refers to the Arrhenius model in GB / T 34986-2017: methods for products accelerated testing(see the attached for the standard). When using this model to calculate the acceleration factor, it is necessary to give the activation energy EA (unit: EV) corresponding to the main failure mode of the verified device. For the test designed by us this time, the inspected object is DMD. Therefore, it is necessary to know the main failure mode of DMD and the corresponding activation energy Ea from the manufacturer.
The description of EA is shown in the figure below:
Please help guide:
1. Is the Arrhenius model applicable to DMD devices? If applicable, what is the value of failure mode and corresponding EA?
2. If the Arrhenius model is not applicable to DMD devices, what method should be used to accelerate the aging of DMD? And calculate the acceleration factor?
Thanks!!!
Hello JH,
Although the Arrhenius model is applicable to DMDs in many cases, such a model is fairly complex and has competing failure mechanisms. It depends on overall system design, application and environment. This information is considered TI proprietary.

Vivek
Hello Vivek:
Thanks for your reply. Could you give me a recommaneded Ea value in a typcial system and environment?
Hello JH,
We don't have recommended "EA" and can not provide one. It will not be true representation.
Thank you for your understanding.
regards,
Vivek
Hello Vivek:
If Ea can not be provided, it means Arrhenius model may not be applicable for DMD.
Could you give me another recommended method of accelerated aging test for DMD?
Thanks a lot.
Hello Jimmy,
Please give us till next week to find a suitable resolution to your question.
Thank you,
John
Hello Jimmy,
Unfortunately the testing methods that we would recommend are proprietary and cannot be shared. Thank you for understanding.

Austin
