Hi Experts,

Good day. We have this query from Cx.

They want to extract the DMD from it DLP 3010 EVM LC. The goal is to reflect a laser beam into the DMD, but the DMD is covered by a heat sink And facing inwards, I believe. They want to know if it is possible to extract the DMD and if so, how (mechanically or chemically remove the glue).

They want to use it to configure a pattern and then reflect a laser beam with it. Unfortunately, the way DLP 3010 is, it only reflects light emitted by the LED's inside.

Customer's main concern is the glue between the DMD and the heat sink + flex cable. Is the engine housing removable by standard tools? Their main goal is to extract it and of course be able to use it and control it from the GUI. It may be even better not to remove the heat sink, but just to separate the block from the house engine.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Customer should be able to remove the DMD from optical engine,. The DMD is held mechanically in the mounting hardware and there is no glue around DMD . They can reuse the flex cable and  mounting hardware.

    The firmware checks for DMD and LED connectivity during power up. Please either leave the LED cable connected or add dummy load to LED lines.

    Please also ensure that DMD is properly secured and there is no loose connection between DMD and flex cable. The noise  in he signal can cause a permanent damage to DMD mirrors.

    There is a sealant around heat sink , need to cut with a razor. That will open the assembly for removing DMD.
