Good Day. I have a customer who has a query about DMD. Please see below 

I need one or two DMDs to use in my optical setup. 

So, I have used SLMs for my projects, but right now because of polarization interaction I need to work with DMDs. I need a DMD with at least HD resolution, pixel size around 8 micrometer and ability to do phase correction compatible with wavelengths 400-700 nm.

Also, I need the whole device, like its connecter and so on. If you have a device as described already, it will be fine. If not, how can I get such device. 

We already have one device from your company but its resolution is low, the model name is: "DLP LightCrafter Evaluation Module"

I think the model DLP6500 is compatible with my setup, but I also need to control the radiation through the controller. How can I get the entire package to use the DMD in my optical setup instead of a SLM?

Finally, the attached files are related to the DMD that we have from your company. I want the display chip as well as the rest of the package.

    The DLP chips in Advanced Light Controls Portfolio are designed for such application.  Customer can evaluate and choose appropriate Advanced Light Control EVMs as per application need. The following page lists the available EVMs:

    These EVMs come with the drive electronics and typically can be controlled using GUI and has input interface options. 

    ability to do phase correction compatible with wavelengths 400-700 nm.

    Please note that DMD are Spatial Light Modulator, they module the intensity of light at a pixel level. They can not change/modulate the phase of light.

    As you know, I wanted to order the DLP6500BFLQ chip and a controller to work along that chip. I saw the link and checked the controllers, but apparently none of those controller are perfectly matched to the DLP6500BFLQ version. Please, let me know if this is the case, and overall how we may choose a controller to suit that chip?

    The DLP6500FLQ DMD can be controlled by either DLPC900 or DLPC910

    DLPC900 is a video input controller typically used in 3D Machine Vision and single DMD 3D print applications

    DLPC910 is a high speed bit plane controller typically used in Digital Direct Imaging (LDI) and multi DMD 3D print applications

    I see your point, but how can I connect one of these controller to the computer?
    Also, once more I wanted to mention what I really need in my optical setup. Due to high price of SLM as well as interaction with polarization, I decided to do some part(s) of my project with DMD. In fact, I want to project the radiation that was already phased corrected by a SLM to next step in my work using a DMD. I asked for the Full HD version, because the interfering beam is coming out with this resolution and the model DLPLCR4500EVM is supporting nearly HD resolution.

  • The DLPC900 controller has an EVM available via TI.com. https://www.ti.com/tool/DLPLCRC900EVM

    TI does not have an EVM for the DLP6500FLQ at this time

    I think DLP6500FLQ will be better to be controlled in my case with DLPC910, because I do not have a video input information. Is the link above regarding the EVM for DLPC900 is also working with the DLPC910 or we need another compatible EVM?

    Finally, to repeat my aim to use the DMD, I wish to tell the goal of my project again so we are sure that we order the right instruments. I want to get a diffraction pattern through projection after the interferometer by DMD and then pick the right diffraction order and do further optical processes. After, series of communication with you we have come to this step that DLP6500FLQ is a right choice controlled by either DLPC910/DLPC900 and a related EVM.

    We are working on a reference design for the DLPC910 + DLP6500BFLQ chipset, but do not have one available at this time. We can keep you updated on our design progress, and expect to be able to share information in the next few months.

    If the customer would like to discuss the details offline we can certainly do that.

  • A faster option would be for the Customer to purchase a solution from one of DLPs 3rd party partners. ViALUX offers a https://www.ti.com/tool/VIALUX-3P-SUPER-910 that can be purchased with a DLP6500BFLQ.

    The TI EVM in design does not support pattern streaming with out the customer adding a Xilinx V707 EVM and some FPGA firmware
