DLP2000: Visible Light expose by DLP Projector

Part Number: DLP2000

With a DLP projector (1 led light source for DMD) An image with a purple line made with paint of windows11 etc. Project it onto a photoresist-completed substrate (positive type with a spectral sensitivity peak of 400 nm), Is it possible to expose with a wavelength of purple (380-430nm)? .. The RGB value of the wavelength at 380nm is RGB value: # 610061.

  • Can the dlp projector have a programmable output wavelength selection of 380nm?

  • Hello Sunao-san,

Welcome to DLP forum and thank you your interest in DLP technology.

The DLP2000 DMD is designed for visible light based display application. The intended use case is  from 420 nm to 700 nm. Using this device outside specification limit will result in device failure over time.

Your application is supported by " 3D printing and Direct Imaging portfolio" of DLP technology.

You can select the appropriate device based on your requirement "Near UV products" or " UV products"

    For your follow-up question -

Can the dlp projector have a programmable output wavelength selection of 380nm?

The optical modules designed for projection application  project an image by controlling gray value at a pixel location. They don't select wavelength of illumination light. They reflect any incoming light without impacting wavelength.

Is your requirement  to project an image at selected wavelength? I assume that the illumination source has wide wavelength.  It can be achieved using DLP technology. However, it will require a custom system (optical ) design. Such a system will have two stages(subsystems).

The first stage will select the desired wavelength of illumination source.  The incoming light will be reflected by a  grating element to disperse the light based on wavelength.  The DMD mirrors  will be used to select desires wavelengths.  This method is used in our spectral sensing application.

The second stage will be a traditional projector where output of stage one is used a illumination source.

    regards,
