DLP4710EVM-LC: Unplug all LEDs

Hi,

I'd like to disconnect the RGB LEDs from my DLP4710EVM-LC. Currently when I do this, the DMD stops responding. I have tried setting the LEDs to Off via a batch file update to the firmware, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

I understand this topic has come up before, but there doesn't seem to be a solution available on the forums short of a special firmware being shared person to person.

Please could somebody explain the solution to this problem?

Hello Chris,

The controller checks if the LEDs are connected during power up or not during the power up sequence and if they aren't connected, the boot-up fails (this is a protection mechanism for DLPA3005).

Can you please let us know why do you need to disconnect the LEDs? As mentioned in the older threads, this request will need a special firmware.

Hi Mayank,

I am using a different light source to illuminate the DMD, therefore the LEDs aren't needed. While I could keep them attached, this hinders the mounting of the controller assembly in my application.
