I have an application whereby I need to generate high-speed/high-resolution patterns in order to test a computer vision system. I have been looking at the DLP4710EVM-LC which I understand can project at 1080p resolution which is great. However, it is not clear to me what the maximum pattern generation rate would be for a binary pattern? Can you clarify this please? Is there a better model I should be looking at?

Hello User,

If you are using the 1-bit monochrome pattern mode, then the max pattern rate is 1440 Hz. Would this rate be satisfactory with your application? We can try and find an alternative if need be.

Thanks John. Yes 1440Hz should do the job. Out of interest - what faster 1bit pattern rates are available?

Hello User,

Our DLP3010EVM-LC has a 1-bit monochrome patterning rate of max around 2500 Hz. This system does use a 720p resolution DMD though. It would function the same as the DLP4710EVM-LC but may not be as bright and with a smaller FOV. This would be the more available option currently.
