DLP3010EVM-LC: Error EVM DMD Device ID does not match GUI Product ID

Hi,

I'm testing DLP3010EVM-LC with custom optical engine.

It works well when I tested it using the display menu.

However, while testing the internal patterns mode, I got the following error message, saying:

Error EVM DMD Device ID does not match GUI Product ID

The EVM with the custom optical engine works fine when tested with the display menu.

What can be the cause of the problem and how can I test the the pattern with the EVM?

Hello Lee,

Can you confirm that the optical engine has a DLP3010 and not a DLP3010LC? If this is the case, the DLPC3478 will reject the DMD as it is meant to be used with the DLP3010LC.

Hi Mayank The root of the problem is that we used the DLP3010 device normally before, but such an error occurred when burning a new picture. This kind of error does not exist at the beginning, but after a period of use, when you plan to burn a new picture.

Hello Lee,

Can you give more detail on burning a new picture? Are you updating FW or what tool are you referring to?

What FW where you using originally and what FW are you using currently?

Hello John

The error report appears in the picture burning stage. The No. 1 file is the picture we used for burning before, and the No. 2 file is burned later. The firmware used throughout the process is the latest 8.0.0.

Can you please check if you can reproduce the same issue on the EVM?

Also, as indicated earlier DLPC3478 can be used with DLP3010LC only from firmware version v8.x.x onwards.

Hello Xiaolong,

The DLP technology is a chipset solution and targeted for a specific application ex. light control. The chipset includes DMD, controller and PMIC IC. The firmware checks for a valid chipset combination to ensure reliable operation.

The DLPC3478 controller was introduced several months prior to production release of DLP3010LC DMD. The prior version of the firmware supported operation of DLPC3478 controller with DLP3010 DMD. After release of DLP301LC DMD , the DLPC3478 firmware was updated to support DLPC3010LC DMD and discontinued support for DLP3010 DMD.
