DLP4710EVM-LC: Light generation DMD with laser

Hi Team,

Our customer is looking for a DMD to do some patterned light generation. They want a DMD that can be controlled in a laboratory setting to generate patterned images by reflecting laser light off the DMD. A minimum rep rate of 20Hz is preferred with a chip size of at least .5”x.5” with 1000x1000 mirrors. Ideally they want a system that can be controlled using Python/Matlab.

It seems that the DLPLCR4500EVM is suitable their application, however, it is currently out of stocks. Can they use DLP4710EVM-LC instead? Does it support Python/Matlab?

Welcome to the TI E2E forum!

Based on the description above, the DLP4710LC should be able to use. However, in our development, we don't use Python or MATLAB control of device configuration. We use I2C interface. The customer should able to use I2C commands as reference, if the I2C commands work, they can develop their code and transfer to Python/MATLAB.
