DLP4710EVM-LC: Few Doubts on DLPC4710 Evaluation BOM

Part Number: DLP4710EVM-LC

Hi i have few doubt with two components in DLPC4710-LC EVK

I am re building from the gerbers, so wish to avoid unwanted items from BOM.

1. J23 is it required to be populated ? i assume its for TI usage ? kindly comment on pupose of this interface called, currently the part is obselete so wish to avoid it while using the gerbers

2. J45 is one more interface for thermistor, is it required, does 4710 EVK uses this interface in code ? is it required to be populated ?

  • Hi Shyam,

Welcome back to the E2E forum and thank you for your interest in DLP® technology!

    1. J23 is the MSP430 Spy-Bi-Wire programming interface connector. It's not required to be installed if you use JTAG and installed J34 to program the MSP420 via JTAG. In other words, you will need to find a way to program the MSP430 if you don't have both programming interface.

    2. J45 is the connector to connect an external thermistor. If the thermistor R576 is already installed, then J45 is not required.

    I hope these help!

    Regards,

    Lori
