H Experts,

Asking your assistance on this case:

Customer would like to return the board which purchased two weeks ago. Reported that the DLPDLCR3010EVM board has an issue and there was a loud noise when they turned on.

The noise is related to the fan of the projector. They use 12V DV supply (max 3A). Another issue they reported with HDMI connection: Connected PC to the projector with HDMI cable to use this projector as a monitor, but do not see any image from the projector except Texas Instrument logo.

For your assistance.

Thank you.

  • Hello ArTzy,

Can you describe the noise the customer is hearing? Does the noise occur when the PROJ_ON switch is flipped or as soon as the 12V supply is connected? How has the EVM's functioning been affected by the noise?

Is the customer able to change the image to another splash image or a test pattern using the Display GUI

    Best,

    Maxine

  • Hi Maxine,

The noise starts as soon as the 12V power is connected to the projector.TheyI can change the image to another splash image with the Display GUI, but still do not have PC screen image projected with the HDMI cable.

    Regards,
    Archie A.

  • Hello Archie,

Can you describe the type of noise the customer is hearing? The fans of the EVM produce an audible amount of noise as soon as the power is connected; the EVMs are designed for evaluation purposes and are not optimized for end-use applications.

An I2C command can be sent to the EVM to switch video input to an external video port. The Programmer's Guide for the DLPC3433 controller, on Pages 10-12, describes how to execute the command 'Write Input Source Select'.

    Best,

    Maxine
