Tilt angle difference among DMD mirrors - 2

Hi all,

I am using .7 XGA DMD (VIS) and I know that if a DMD mirror is loaded with new data and yet the reset operation did not take place, one expects a small change in the angles of the mirrors that are loaded with the bits indicating a position switch.

The data spec I am looking for is:  What are the characteristics for angle fluctuations across a DMD's mirrors during the time after a global reset is complete and before a data load operation is started?

For example: if I turn on all the mirrors (+12 degrees), and somehow I was able to measure all the individual mirror angles, how would their histogram look?

Regards,

Ozgur

  • Ozgur,

The DMD will hold the mirror tilt to within the limits specified in the data sheet: 12 +/- 1 degree. That is, after reset and settling, the tilt angle will be between 11 and 13 degrees. This applies during data load operations.

If you have further concerns, it would be necessary to know more about your application and the optical system you are using. However, TI does not guarantee DMD performance, or give statistical data, beyond the data sheet information and limits.

    Best regards,

    Pascal
