DLPDLCR2000EVM: Hardware issue

Hi Experts,

Good day. Seeking your assistance on this query:

Status LEDs D2 and D3 indicate the status of HOST_IRQ and PROJ_ON respectively. HOST_IRQ will go low when the system has completed boot sequence, while PROJ_ON indicates the operational state of the EVM projector When I try to turn on DLPDLCR2000EVM with the right power supply, the LED D2 turns on green and goes low as expected. But there is no green light on LED D3. Do you know what is the reason this to happen? I connect this with the Beaglebone black, and everything works fine with ssh. However, when I try to do i2cdetect -r -y 2, the output only shows UU UU UU UU at column 4, 5, 6 and 7. but there is no 1b at column b. Perhaps, there is a problem with the PROJ_ON.

For your assistance please.

Regards,
Archie A.

  • Hello Archie,

If the DLPDLCR2000EVM is not connected to the Beaglebone Black and then connected to the 5V power supply, does the EVM turn on? And if the BBB and the EVM are connected, then two power sources are needed to power them both. The EVM can use a 5V supply and the BBB can be connected to a laptop or another 5V supply.

    Best,

    Maxine

  • Hi Maxine,

Thanks for the information. Cx responded.

At the moment it seems the beaglebone could not connect to the dlpdlcr2000evm. Is there anything we could do to solve this?
Beaglebone works fine as we can easily access to the laptop via ethernet cable. Ssh via putty works as intended. Could you help us to solve this?
    Thank you.

  • Hello Archie,

Has the customer followed along with this E2E Tutorial for the BBB? The Debian image they need to flash can be found here. An important note: instead of using the "Recommended Debian Images" a "'Flasher' Debian Image" must be used. Further explanation of writing a new image to the BBB can be found here. If the image has been flashed correctly and the BBB and the EVM are connected to their respective power supplies, then the EVM should output the splash image.

    Best,
