Hi,

Good Day.

Customer is interested in the DLP4710EVM-LC and would like to change out the LEDs.

Is this possible/easy to do? He wants to modify the light engine by replacing RGB LEDs with far-red LEDs.

Please help to provide the procedure or any changes in the firmware.

Welcome back to the E2E forum and thank you for your interest in DLP® technology!

For clarify, does the customer want to connect the RED LED only and leave the GREEN and BLUE LEDs connections open?

If that is correct, there is a firmware version 8.1.0_RED_LED_ONLY on the TI DLP® Pico Firmware Selector page for DLP4710EVM-LC that allows the PMIC to be connected with RED LED only. Then, please re-flash the EVM with the firmware.

Good Day. No, he would like to replace the blue and green with 760 nm and 850 nm LEDs, keeping the red in place. Thank you very much.

Thank you for clarifying!

Yes, they can replace the blue and green LEDs with the red LED with the wavelength range mentioned above. They can use the latest firmware version 8.1.1 on the TI DLP® Pico Firmware Selector page.
