DLPC7540EVM: I2C and DLP Composer tool

Part Number: DLPC7540EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP650TE, , DLPC7540

I have now 2x DLPC7540EVM using DLP650TE chip.

I use I2C IIC0 port to use commands like "Enable Image Flip" and "Write Image Gamma Lut" successfully.

Of course I had configure J64 with a jumper across pins 1&2 to use IIC0 port.

For some very strange reason in non of my 2 DLP systems 0x34 address worked. I tried 0x1A address and that works. I don't have an idea why.

In the DLPC7540 programmers guide "dlpu082b.pdf" page 11, section "15.2 I2C Target" says:

<<It is possible to change the device address to any other desired value using DLP Composer tool. >>

Where do I download the "DLP Composer tool", and how can I connect it to my DLPC7540EVM?

  • Hello Mario,

Could you help me understand your setup hooked to the IIC0 port? There should be I2C signals coming from a USB-I2C Bridge device, is this the case?

How were you able to find the 0x1A address and where are you seeing this address displayed - maybe a screengrab could give clarification?

Unfortunately the DLP Composer tool is not released to the public. This is why I'm confused how your address could have changed to 0x1A.

    Best,
