DLP3021-Q1: temperature monitoring

Hi team,
The temperature measurement IC recommended by DLP3021 uses TMP411-Q1, but due to insufficient PCB area, I want to use TMP451-Q1 instead. Is it possible to directly replace it? If FPGA does not support TMP451-Q1, it can be detected by MCU. But can you provide the relevant parameters (η-factor and β) of the built-in sensing diode of DLP3021-Q1? Or it is recommended to directly use the preset values of TMP451-Q1.
For the same purpose, can the JTAG-related IO wiring of FPGA to DMD be omitted?

    Hi Samson,

    You should be able to use the TMP451 in place of TMP411. As the registers map is almost the same. 

    Our expert will soon let you know if n factor parameters can be configured and if so how.

    Hi Samson,

    I am still checking a few things to see if TMP451 and TMP411 are compatible. There is an internal TI tool to create new firmware where we can specify what n factor to set. This is usually the standard decimal N factor value that is set. If you are able to readily test the TMP451, I can provide a new firmware to attempt to write to the TMP451 to change the N-factor. We have never tested with the TMP451 before.

    For you second question, the DMD JTAG is used for the following functionality. (Description is from the DLPC120 Datasheet)

    The above DMD JTAG BIST is part of a series of tests however if the DMD JTAG BIST is disabled, it will disrupt the rest of the ASIC BIST run at initialization for the DLPC120 as seen below from section 7 of the DLPC120 I2C Programmers Guide. I would not recommend disabling the DMD JTAG functionality/wiring and have never done it before and I am not sure what changes would need to be made to correctly disable DMD JTAG functionality/wiring and not affect other ASIC initialization or functionality.
