DLPC7540EVM: Unsuccessful connection from DLPC7540EVM to computer

Dear experts,

I want to connect the DLPC7540EVM to the computer. However, my computer cannot recognize the hardware. The DLP7540 is connected to the power, the SW5 and SW1 are all at the ON state, the jumper is installed in J9 and the LED D5, D6, D7, and D15 are all on, the same as the user guide for DLPC7540EVM. However, the computer cannot recognize the hardware. I have tried three different USB A to micro USB B lines, but all of them failed. I have downloaded and installed the GUI and firmware successfully. The computer mentioned above is Windows 11 system. Later, I used two other computers, which are windows 10 system. However, both of the Win 10 computers failed again. After connecting the DLPC7540EVM to computers, the panel ‘Universal Serial Bus controllers' at the Device Manager didn’t change. All of the devices are new, and I haven't upload any binary map to the device. I wonder how to solve the problem. Thank you!

No, there is no light blinking on the board. D52, D5, D7, D15 are green, but D6 is red. The photo shows the state of the board.

Hi expert,

Thanks for your information. I changed another USB line and finally connect it to the computer. However, I met another problem. The image shown in the DMD is somehow different from that of the user guide. In the user guide, the image is 'DLP,' but in my DMD, the image is ‘mirror symmetry, i.e., 'PLD', shown in the attachment. I wonder how it occurs and if the system works successfully. Thank you!

Hi Zhiyu,

Image could be flipped horizontally.

GUI provides options for Long and Short axis flip. Please check and update.

Thanks for your help! Yes, it works. I can flip the image horizontally and vertically. However, I met some other problems.

The first problem. I try three different display modes, i.e., 0x0-Disp External, 0x1-Test Pattern, 0x2-Solid, however, it seems that there are several columns of pixels out of work as shown in the images with red curve highlighted. For 0x0-Disp External mode and 0x1-Test Pattern mode, the number of such columns is different. When the power is off, I can still see that there are some pixels different from others(like the phenomena of Solid Mode). I wonder why it occurs and how to solve it.

And the Second problem. If I want to make DMD display thousands of images, what mode should I choose, how can I upload these images to DMD, and how can I make DMD display them one by one at the fastest speed?

Check to make sure the flex cables are connected properly and that there are no physical problems with the connectors. You will need to provide video input through a front end using mode 0x0-Disp External
