DLPC6540: Connecting via TTL

HI, I'm trying to boot up to a new DLPC6540 projector using the following workflow:

Connect to power via 24V PSU
Connect to my laptop via a USB to TTL connector (this one)
Use pySerial to send serial commands over TTL.
Use ser.write([0x2a,0xfa,0x0d]) to power on the projector

I get no response that the projector has turned on though. I don't get a response via TTL and no fans/LEDs turn on in the projector. I also don't see where this information is located in the TI Programmer's Guide.

I am using this documentation from a Chinese manufacturer.

Hey Austin. I have a contact in China that helped me get the projector. I'm not sure of the name of the company that he got it from but the documentation does say that it's a DLPC6540 TI projector.

Are you familiar with a different process for turning on the projector?

Please let me know if there's any information that would be helpful. This is my first time using the TI forum.

It is difficult to say with this information. Can you share the name of the projector? We typically are not able to support another company's product even if it is using our chipset, but we will consider how to help you.

Hello Mauricio,

DLPC6540 does not support commands via UART. It only supports either USB or I2C.

Please refer to Section 15 of DLPC6540 Programmer's Guide.

Please contact the projector manufacture for more details.
