DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2: How to change input image crop

Part Number: DLPDLCR4710EVM-G2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC3439

Hello,

I am trying to display a 1920 x 1080p image through external video port (HDMI) but although I am sending an image of this size to the projector, it displays a 1280 x 720 pixels image because it crops it.

When I try to change the input image size settings through the GUI (advanced tab) there is an asterisk saying it is not possible to change the crop on the 4710 EVM (what I am using, as shown in screenshot below), and in fact, if I change it anyway the picture appears all altered (see 2nd picture below).

Can you tell me how I can change the crop then? Or if this is possible at all? the projector is sold as a full HD 1920x1080p so I'd expect it to be able to display this resolution and not crop everything.

Many thanks,

Valentina

  • Hello Valentina,

Welcome to the E2E forum and thank you for your interest in DLP® technology!

How do you verify that the displayed image is 1280 x 720? I would recommend to check the input image size from your external video source.

Based on the DLPC3439 Software Programmer's Guide section 2.3.3.13 and section 2.3.3.17, the commands Write Image Crop (10h) and Write Display Image Orientation (14h) - Image Rotation are not supported in DLPC3439.

The maximum input source can be supported up to 1920 x 1080 for DLPC3439.

    Regards,

    Lori
