DLPDLCR471TPEVM: How to turn light off completely by inputting a black image?

Part Number: DLPDLCR471TPEVM

Hi,

I am trying to use DLPDLCR471TPEVM for scientific experiments of photo-stimulation.

I want to turn off the light of DLPDLCR471TP completely when transferring a black RGB image through HDMI; I don't need any Color-temperature control. I just want to output 0-255 intensity patterns of projection images with completely dark images of 0-pixel values.

But I did not figure out how to do it.

I think "DynamicBlack" in "DLP EVM GUI software" is likely a key, but I did not find any document to setup values of "DynamicBlack Settings".

Can I setup DLPDLCR471TP for the above purpose?

Thank you,

Aki

  • Hi Akihiro,

Every projector has some stray light coming out even though the input pixel data is black image(pixels with 0).

Dynamic Black in GUI you see is something to improve the contrast for dark area in an image/video.

What type of patterns do you want to display with various intensities? Is it like something like a gray ramp?

If the pixel data is 0 but you still want to see different intensities would mean that you just want to play with brightness level.

Please do elaborate on your use case.

FYI To completely turn off the light completely you need to turn off the illumination for all LEDs in Dynamic Black Page showing LED control.

    Regards,

    Akhil
