DLP LightCommander Errata E0031 - Any suggestions?

Hi, I am working with the DLP LightCommander 5500, and am having trouble with the failure of the red LED.

I later found the errata E0031, where it describes that premature failure of red LED(or sometimes the other colour) will occur when the light intensity setting is set to greater than 60%.

Since it has been posted so formally, I figured that many other people have experienced this problem as well.

What kind of solutions are currently available?

Anything will be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello,

    I have similar problems too.

When the LED is destroyed by overheating.

How can I resolve in any way?

    Replacing  LEDs?

  • What I did was send the LC back...

Since this problem should be common, due to their publication, you should be able to get the permission  (i forgot the name) without too much complication to send to have it fixed. It is still an annoying process.

I sent it back using the permission I had a while ago for another problem.

I haven't gotten the LC yet, but the they shouldnt take too much time as it is just going to be replacing the LED
