DLPC3470: DLP EVM-GUI 3.1.0.7 —failed to update the firmware with error code 24

Part Number: DLPC3470
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPA2005

Hi,

Today, I was trying to update the DLPC3470 firmware(FWSel_DLPC3470_DLPA2005_pm1_i2c0x36_v8p0p1.img, 2,527,804 bytes) by updating the internal pattern images(*.bin).

When I tried to update the firmware it shows ended up with an error message saying "Flash Builder returnned with error code 24"

Interestingly, when I tried to update the old version of the firmware, it showed no error message.

The firmware size is 2,589,808 bytes.

What can be the cause of the problem?

  • Hello User,

Welcome back to the E2E forum!

We have noticed that this is a known issue with current GUI version 3.1.0.7. We have fixed this in an upcoming release and please expect the new version of GUI to be released.

    Regards,

    Lori

  • Thanks

    1) what are the root causes of this problem?

    2) can we find the old firmware/gui program which doesn’t have this problem? Can you provide the links?

    3) for the firmware part, isn’t there a way to programmatically make a custom firmware by updating certain parts of it by ourselves? Please provide the resource links so that we can start from.

    thank you

  • Hi User,

    1. It could be the GUI software issue.

    2. I don't recommend you to use old version firmware or old GUI because it could case other known issues that we had fixed in our current version.

    3. The GUI Edit firmware tool allow users to custom some features of the the firmware, but as I mentioned that we have been come cross some issues with the edit firmware tool. We will release a new GUI version as soon as we can. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Regards,

    Lori

  • Hi,

We have the upcoming update where the firmware should be modified.

As there is no timeline for the modification, I believe the legacy version should be provided.

Please suggest any of the 2 or 3 as we cannot wait indefinitely.

    Thanks

  • Hello User,

I will need to look into if there are any available options and get back to you.

    Regards,

    Lori

  • Hello user,

Unfortunately, we don't have old GUI versions or an early new GUI version can be provided. Please expect that we will have the new GUI version that fixed the issues to be released.

    Regards,

    Lori
