DLP3310: The combination of DLP3310 and DLP3437 enables 720P point-to-point display?

Part Number: DLP3310
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC3437, DLPC3478, DLP3010

The customer has a DLP optical machine on the customer's side, and the combination of DLP3310 and DLP3437 is the data that the customer checked, the DMD itself is 1368x768 resolution, and the resolution is 1080P through XPR, and they now want a 720P point-to-point display. Can this chip combination be realized?

The optical machine now input signal via HDMI input 1080p signal can be displayed in full screen.。

If it's a 720P picture, it's a small picture.

What our customer wants is a 720P signal via HDMI that can be displayed point-to-point, without scaling, can the combination of DMD3310 and DLP3437 be possible?

  • Hello,

Welcome to the E2E forums and we hope to assist you with your questions.

Could you clarify what you mean by point to point? Do you want 1280x720 without XPR?

The DLP3310 and DLPC3437 controller does support 1280x720.

Alternatively all parallel input interface will go through video processing.

Both of the above images are from the DLPC3437 datasheet.

Alternatively if you are looking for 1280x720 without XPR you can look at the DLP3010 DMD and DLPC3478 controller. https://www.ti.com/tool/DLP3010EVM-LC

This would be an easier solution without an FPGA or any adjustment of settings or changes out of the box.
