DLP660TE: Does it support WQXGA(2560 x 1600) resolution?

Part Number: DLP660TE

Hi,

I'm currently looking for a light engine with native resolution higher than 1080p. A local vendor recommended to me the 660TE with XPR disabled, but on their data sheet it says the display resolution is 2560x1600.

While everyone knows that the native resolution of 660TE is 2716x1528, they insisted that the resolution values on their data sheet was correct, and that it was actually the result of TI's patented pixel mapping technology.

Doesn't sound quite convincing to me though, since I could not find any related documents on TI website.

Even if that pixel mapping technology does exist, why would any want to change the aspect ratio anyway? Not to mention the fact that 2560x1600 isn't much different from 2716x1528.

So should I stay away from this light engine vendor?

Thanks,

Daniel

  • Hello Daniel,

Sorry, I cannot comment on the trustworthiness of a light engine vendor.

Please note that the native resolution of DLP660TE is 2716x1528 as you have said. Our pixel mapping technology will support 4k resolution (3840x2160).

    Best,
