DLPA3005: Can I replace the dlpa3000 with Dlpa3005 directly?

Part Number: DLPA3005
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP3010, DLPC3438, DLPA3000, , DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2

Hello,

I have a driver board( dlpa3000+dlpc3438+dlp3010, 280lm), now I want to make the dlp much higher( maybe 25% higher other than 100% higher). And I have bellow questions.

Q1:  Are dlpa3000 and dlpa3005 pin2pin?

Q2, Can I replace the dlpa3000 with dlpa3005 directly without changing any other component?

Q3, As if dlp3010  optical engine can achieve  500lm maximun, and current dlpa3000 can drive the dlp3010 to 280lm, after replaced  with dlpa3005 ,can the dlp3010 be drived to higher than 350lm without adding any mosfets?

Hope to hear from TI supporters asap, thanks in davance!

All the best,

Jeff Xu

  • Hello User,

1.) The pinout of the two parts is the same.

2.) No. The DLPA3005 must use external mosfets for illumination. Those would need to be added in order to use the part.

3.) If you are referring to the EVM optical engine for DLPDLCR3010EVM-G2 we don't have that information available.

    Best,
