DLPC1438: Display at native resolution of 300S?

I am using SPI to send 1280x720 frame data, but am struggling to get it to output in native resolution. So far it just displays 1/4 of the 2560x1440 frame. I assume because the actuator is on by default?

What commands do I need to send to disable the actuator and display in native resolution?

Can you say what the operation mode you are trying to operate?

For using the SPI data transmission, please followed the instructions and examples shown in the DLPC1438 software programmer's guide section 4. You should be able to replace the 1280 x 720 frame.

I am following the instructions in 3.3 and 4.2 as you say.

As far as I know, I am following the exact instructions in the software programming guide for 1280x720 frame. I am getting the expected image, but it is as if I have only changed a 1280x720 section of pixels in the middle of the full 2560x1440 frame. I am expecting the 1280x720 frame to fill the entire projection area, but it is not doing so. Is this a false assumption?

Hi Robert,

Meanwhile, can you confirm that you want to use external print mode to display a native 1280x720 resolution? Is that with or without FPGA front end?

Hi Lori,

Yes, I would like to use external print mode to display a 1280x720 frame on the same projection area as a 2560x1440 frame. I would like to use the FPGA front end to input the frame data over SPI.

Currently, a 1280x720 frame has a smaller projection area than 2560x1440, which I would like to fix.

As I checked with the team, DLPC1438 was not designed for displaying a 1280 x 720 native resolution. Can you please let us know the reason and applications you want to desire this feature? We may can investigate more.
