DLPC3479: older version firmware request

Dear all,

We are developing pico-projectors based on the DLP3479 chips, and looking for an older version firmware as we used to.

At TI DLP® PicoTm Firmware Selector https://software-dl.ti.com/dlp/pico-fw-selector/, I can only download the latest version of firmware, the question is: where can I find the older versions?

The firmware we are looking for is FWSel_DLPC3479_DLPA3005_pm2_i2c0x36_v8p1p0_RED_LED_ONLY.

    Hello John,

    Welcome to DLP forum and thank you for your interest in DLP technology.

    May I know why you want to use the older version? We strongly recommend our customer to use the latest version of the firmware.  The firmware updates have known issues fixed and often feature enhancement.

    Thanks for your answer and sorry for the late reply.

    The reason we want the 8.1.0 firmware is that the LED will not turn on during the initialization of DLPC3479 but 8.1.1 does.

    Hi John,

    The only difference  between DLPC3479 FW v8.1.0 and v8.1.1 is the thermistor enabled in the v8.1.1.

    If you are using RED LED ONLY image file, then only the Red LED is enabled and other Green and Blue LEDs are disabled.

    Hi Lori,

    Actually it’s not, when we use 8.1.0 before, there would be no light coming out when we turn on the projector. 
    If you can provide me the FW8.1.0 that would be very  appreciate.

    Hi John,

    Did you receive the version 8.1.0 from our colleagues or did you downloaded directly from Firmware selector tool? Do you have the TI EVM or custom board?

    We should be able to provide v8.1.0 firmware, but I would like to make sure which one you were using.

    Thanks for reply.

    We downloaded the the 8.1.0 firmware from the Filmware selector tool before, and we had purchased the TI EVM, also we developed a custom board based on it with only one red channel.

    What we need is FWSel_DLPC3479_DLPA3005_pm2_i2c0x36_v8p1p0_RED_LED_ONLY.

    Hi John,

    Yes, we are able to share the old firmware version to you. Please provide your email address which is linked to myTI account. 

    Also, please note the the only difference between DLPC3479 FW v8.1.0 and v8.1.1 should be the thermistor enabled in the v8.1.1.
