Hi Vivek,
You mentioned "For optical engine design, the recommended practice is to design the optics for 17 degree tilt (F/1.7). Marginally increase the illumination angle to 35 degree."

Because the micromirror tilt angle is +/-1.4 degrees, would illumination angle to 36.8 be more suitable?

Hi,

The increasing illumination angle to 35 degrees creates a better separation between ON Pupil and Flat State light. This results in better contrast ratio and also provides more tolerance for assembly.

The higher tilt angle creates a bigger separation between ON Pupil and OFF Pupil by a factor of 2. There is no change in illumination angle is required for it.
