DLP5532-Q1: resolution and active area

Part Number: DLP5532-Q1

DLP5532-Q1 can support 1152 × 576, but the actual pixel number of DMD is 1152x1152. What is the difference? Can it not support 1152 x 1152?

Why does the real active area need to consider (P × M) + (P / 2), and additional P/2 is needed? What is the use of these extra ones?
