DLPC3479: Internal Pattern Streaming mode stops displaying patterns

Part Number: DLPC3479

Hello, TI engineer !

We use Internal Pattern Streaming mode, and constantly use I2C to trigger instructions (the instruction is run once), and the interval between instructions is 100ms. After giving the trigger instruction for a long time, the display of internal patterns will stop after a few hours, and the time is random. At this time, only restart the power supply to restore the solution.

Is this a known Bug and how can we solve it?

Because I noticed that in PicoTm Firmware Selector, 3478 version 9.0.1 firmware has been released, which mentioned that similar problems have been solved.

Thank!

  • Hello User,

Welcome back to the E2E forums and we hope to assist you with your questions.

Could you please answer the following questions to help us debug the issue further?

    1. Are you using a TI EVM or your own system design?
    2. What firmware version are you using with the DLPC3479?
    3. How are you sending these commands are you using the DLP EVM GUI or your own method of communication?

Please also be aware of the delayed response due to the holidays. Thank you for your understanding.

    Regards,

    Alex Chan

  • Hello,Alexander
    The reply is as follows:
I use my own system design, but basically refer to TI EVM.
I used 7.0.1 at the earliest, 8.0.1 in the last year or two, and 8.1.0 was used a few months ago. All are single lamp channel firmware. I have run the above firmware versions in my lab, and several machines have been running together for a week, and one machine will have problems one to ten times a day, which will appear randomly. It seems to have nothing to do with the firmware version. The downloaded Internal pattern picture timing is also in line with the requirements.
I use my own method of communication to connect to DLPC3479 through STM32 hardware I2C. I have tested that I2C waveform is in line with the time sequence, and the frequency is about 90KHZ. After I set the I2C frequency to decrease, it seems that the probability of problems will decrease, but it will inevitably occur.
