DLP3010EVM-LC: Internal Pattern, Auto Power reset,

Part Number: DLP3010EVM-LC
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC-API

Dear Members

I am checking the sw functions using DLP3010EVM-LC and API as below.

https://www.ti.com/tool/DLPC-API

Case1) Attacehd video. DLP3010EVM-LC + TI GUI Tool

After finishing  "Program and load Pattern" download., it is excuted auto power reset  using "Initiatin a power cycle for the EVM" without  Projector On/Off Switch operation or 19[V] Power On/Off.

Case2) DLP3010EVM-LC + DLPC API

After finishing  "Program and load Pattern" download, it shoud be excuted (HW) Projector On/Off Switch operation or 19[V] Power On/Off.

How should I proceed to excute " Auto reset" without (HW) Projector On/Off Switch operation or 19[V] Power On/Off using DLPC-API ?

Q1) What are the AP Functions or I2C Command?

If I excute auto power reset using I2C Command or API fuction, Please let me know how to use or add?

Thanks

  • Hello Kim,

Are you using a DLP EVM or a custom board? To restart you should drive proj_on low and then high again.

  • Hello Kim,

I seem you marked the response as not answering your question. Did you have an answer to my question or have anything you'd like me to clarify further?

    Best,

I'm sorry for the lare reply.

    1) Are you using a DLP EVM or a custom board?

[LP KIM] No. I am using TI's DLP3010EVM-LC and DLPC Gui Tool.

    EVM : https://www.ti.com/tool/DLP3010EVM-LC?keyMatch=&tisearch=search-everything&usecase=hardware
    GUI   : https://www.ti.com/tool/DLPDLC-GUI

     2) To restart you should drive proj_on low and then high again.

[LP KIM]  Can I do auto power reset without (HW) projector on/off switch operation such as Case 1 when it is using  " DLP3010EVM-LC and DLP Controoler API"

    DLP Controoler API : www.ti.com/.../DLPC-API

Q1) Does  "Proj on low and then high" mean (HW) Projector ON/OFF switch operation such as [Figure-1] ?

After clicking pop up message "initiating a power cycle  for the EVM" ,  It was excuted "Auto Power reset" without (HW) projection toggle operation

Q2) Can I do auto power reset without (HW) projector on/off switch operation using " DLP3010EVM-LC and DLP Controoler API" ?

    DLP Controoler API : https://www.ti.com/tool/DLPC-API

Case 1 is vidie file 240223_TI GUI Auto Power reset (2). Plesae watch a video file that is "240223_TI GUI Auto Power reset (2)"

  • Hi Kim,

Q1) Does  "Proj on low and then high" mean (HW) Projector ON/OFF switch operation such as [Figure-1] ?

    • Not necessarily, on the EVM proj_on is controlled by the MSP. The MSP drives proj_on low/high to restart the evm.

(Q2) Can I do auto power reset without (HW) projector on/off switch operation using " DLP3010EVM-LC and DLP Controoler API" ?

    DLP Controoler API : https://www.ti.com/tool/DLPC-API

    • Because this feature is taken care of by a front end device, there is no API to do this. In order to accomplish this you should either use the switch or configure some other device to drive the signal accordingly.

    Best,

    Maximus
