DMD evaluation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC900, DLPLCRC900EVM, DLP6500FYE, DLPLCR65EVM

I'm looking to purchase a setup that'll allow me to drive a DMD from my desktop machine. I understand that I'll need the following generic parts (with some of the specific parts I'm looking at in brackets):

  • DMD controller (eg. DLPC900)
  • Controller evaluation board (eg. DLPLCRC900EVM)
  • DMD (eg. DLP6500FYE)
  • DMD evaluation board (eg. DLPLCR65EVM)

It's unclear to me whether the DMD is included with purchase of the evaluation board, and if the controller is included with purchase of the corresponding evaluation board. Could you confirm either way?

Also, I wondered if there might be some reference setups of such a system I can look at, to get a better idea of compatibility, and to aid my pricing of the complete setup.

    Hello Graeme,

    Our evaluation modules are created to support customers, such as yourself, to have a working bench demonstration of controller and DMD integration.

    Because we offer a variety of DMDs to pair with controllers we offer the DMD evaluation boards separately from the controller evaluation boards.

    Just as the controller IC is included in the controller evaluation, the DMD is included in the DMD evaluation board.

    For your case, if you would like to utilize the DLPC900 controller and DLP6500FYE, please purchase the DLPLCRC900EVM along with the DLPLCR65EVM for benchtop evaluation of the DLPC900 and DLP6500FYE.

    If you would like reference setups, please take a look at the included Design Files under the DLPLCRC900EVM and DLPLCR65EVM pages.

    Additional utilization notes can be found in the EVM User's Guide found under the Technical documentation of either page.
