RE: DLP7000: Thermal dissipation and NIR DLP products

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPA200, DLP650LNIR, DLPLCRC410EVM, DLPC410, DLP650NE, DLPLCR65NEVM

As a follow up: I found the DLP650LNIRFYL for NIR.  Does the DLP650LNIRFYL require an external driver?

  • Hi ,

I think it is best if I keep replies to two different topics separate (and I may try to split this off as a separate thread if possible). Here is the original thread about DLP7000 thermal dissipation for future E2E users and you.

You will indeed need an external micromirror driver (such as the DLPA200).

To help get you started, we have evaluation modules for the DLPC410 and DLP650NE if you wish to look at those. We provide a reference design for you to use, as I understand you are looking at the DLP650LNIR and not the DLP650NE. The DLPLCRC410EVM already has the DLPA200 micromirror drivers to help you out.

Please let me know if you require any extra assistance!

  • I would like to find the most straightforward use of the DLP650LNIR. If I purchase the DLPLCR65NEVM and the DLPLCRC410EVM, will this provide all I need for control and switching of the device??

  • Or is purchasing the DLPC410, DLP650LNIR, and DLPA200 as per the drawing, the most straightforward?

  • Sr Tweezer,

The most straightforward way to begin using the DLP650LNIR DMD is through the purchase of a DLPLCR65NEVM and a DLPLCRC410EVM. This provides all you need to drive the DMD (though you will likely need to buy your own 5 V, 6 A power supply). The DLPA200 is already on the DLPLCRC410EVM, so you do not need to purchase the DLPA200.

As a short, clear list, you only need:

    1. DLPLCR65NEVM
    2. DLPLCRC410EVM
    3. A 5 VDC power supply capable of providing 30 W of input power

Additionally, you may download the reference software GUI that is intended to be used with these EVMs. The DLP Discovery 4100 Explorer GUI will allow you to readily test out different features supported on the DLPC410 EVM.

Here is an FAQ on the DLPLCRC410EVM for you to use as supplementary material, as this is an EVM that has been around for a while now, but still sees continued support!

    Best regards,
