DLP4710EVM-LC: How to play.gif as a splash image

I am able to successfully update the flash image of type .gif (YCbCr) using the DLP4710EVM-LC GUI firmware version 8.3.0.as Splash 1 ie index 0

When I select the image using splash image display,The DLP Projects static image.

How to Project the moving image from DLP.

Hello Vaishali,

The splash screen mode does not support the .gif image, it only supports the static image.

However, you have option to use internal pattern streaming mode or external pattern streaming mode to display patterns. For example, in the internal pattern streaming mode, you can upload images in the pattern set, and define the pattern set display order and configuration, then load the pattern and display them. You can use DLPDLC-GUI tool to perform these steps.

Hi Lori,

Thank you for the useful information.

My requirements is to display three horizontal color bands.

Top :Green flashing with 1 Hz

Middle : Red Steady

Bottom :Yellow flashing with 0.5Hz

Can you guide me step by step how to proceed using internal pattern streaming.

Hello Vaishali,

You can use DLPDLC-GUI to run the internal pattern streaming mode. Please refer to the DLP Display and Light Control EVM GUI Tool User Guide section 4.3.2, it has step by step instructions. Please note there is supported pattern timing limitation for the internal pattern mode when using firmware version 8.3.0. You will need to set the pre-exposer dark time, exposure time, and post exposure dark time for the pattern, and unfortunately it does not support 1s or 2s exposure time.

Hello Vaishall,

There are different sequences built in the software, when you use different pattern type, such as 1-bit or 8-bit, RGB or monochrome, it will use different sequence.
