RE: CS2304406: DLP780NEEVM  display defect (white image at the center prior to power ON)

Dear Technical Support,

The reported DLP780NEEVM delivery is not yet used (not energised) by the customer.

And customer is also wondering if the received delivery has been used.

Please check if can proceed with return for credit or scrap for credit?

And provide RMA# and return instructions, if need to return.

Please advice.

When tilted, a white central feature like DLP logo shows up.

I wonder whether this is by design. I don't want to believe that it is a sign of wear, which means it has been used.

  • Hello Manuel,

During our testing procedure these EVMs are all powered up initially to ensure they function for an initial time. After they produce a proper image, it is powered down and packaged.

A residual image should not effect the life of the part but could be indicative of multiple things, all of which we can fix or hold to a stricter quality control.

The customer should still be able to power up the system - following the EVM guide - and see the system go to an active state with the DLP logo and transition to a solid-state where the residual image is not seen.

Again, they can test the system powerup and proceed without issue. In parallel, we will double confirm this is the case on our side.

    Best,

    Aaron

  • Hello Manuel,

I haven't heard anything back in more than 3 weeks, please advise if there is any more input or I will be closing this thread next week.

    Best,

    Aaron

  • Dear Aaron,
