Hi, I need to set  up my dmd mirror for my experimental set up. I am trying to do structured illumination microscopy with it. However before doing that I need to align the laser  after it is reflected from the dmd mirrror. I tried putting on solid field as the pattern in hope that it will act like a mirror so that I can align it with my set up. However it is not so . Any suggestions as to what I should do ? when I illuminate it with my laser. 100s of diffracition orderrs are formed. what is the correct way to do it? Any suggestion would help.

  • Hello Sahil,

Are you planning to re-image the surface of the DMD on the test object?  If so you will need to set up the optics and project a pattern of some kind.

If you are planning to use free space optics (i.e. collimated space) that could be more challenging.  You would need to find the brightest order and use the pattern in that order as your structured light pattern.
