DLPDLCR2000EVM: DLP products forum

Part Number: DLPDLCR2000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP2000,
We connected dlpdlcr2000evm to the Raspberry Pi, and as a result of Googling,
the reference frederickvandenbosch.be/, which many people referenced, is not working.:(
The config file is well written,
sudo i2cset - y 3 0x1b 0x0c 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x13 i sudo i2cset - y 3 0x1b 0x0b 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 i
When we give this command, our projector only shows still the splash screen.
How can I solve this problem? I'm really desperate.
I eagerly await your resolution of this issue.

Thankyou.

  • Hello Yeogyeong,

    Welcome to the E2E forum. Thank you for your business!

    That blog post was taken down by the owner some time ago. Please see this post for information that may be helpful.

  • Thank you for your fast response.
    But we have several more questions.
    First, we used Raspberry PI 4, and connected the line by referring below image.

    And we connected Raspberry PI's 5V pin to J3.

    After that, we added this code at the end of /boot/config.txt

    # Added to support DLP2000
    dtoverlay=i2c-gpio,i2c_gpio_sda=23,i2c_gpio_scl=24,i2c_gpio_delay_us=2

    dtoverlay=dpi18
    overscan_left=0
    overscan_right=0
    overscan_top=0
    overscan_bottom=0
    framebuffer_width=854
    framebuffer_height=480
    enable_dpi_lcd=1
    display_default_lcd=1
    dpi_group=2
    dpi_mode=87

    dpi_output_format=458773
    hdmi_timings=854 0 14 4 12 480 0 2 3 9 0 0 0 60 0 32000000 3

    and added below code at /etc/rc.local
    i2cset -y 3 0x1b 0x0c 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x13 i
    i2cset -y 3 0x1b 0x0b 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 i

    but we cannot see the raspberry pi's screen through the beam.

    and then if we connect VINTF to 5V or 3.3V, the screen doesn't appear even though the light is blinking.

    How can we fix this problems? we are wating for your detail response.

    Best regards.

  • Hello,

    We are looking into your issue with the Raspberry Pi and will get back to you with our feedback by early next week.

  • Hello,

    Can you confirm that you are able to detect the EVM via I2C after adding the code to /boot/config.txt? Does the DLP2000 EVM have light output at all? Or is it completely black?

  • Our project required connecting a Raspberry Pi and DLP. When I connected the charger to DC power instead of connecting the 5v pin of the Raspberry Pi, the Raspberry Pi was disconnected, and when I connected the 5v pin to the Raspberry with DLP, the Raspberry did not turn on. However, if I remove the 5V pin and the DLP is not powered through the Raspberry, the Raspberry works fine. Is there a problem with DLP?! The splash screen no longer appears in DLP. I want to check if DLP has gone out.
    Is there any countermeasure in this case?
  • Hello,

    Which LEDs are lit on the DLP EVM when you plug it directly into 5V? Which LEDs are lit when you power the EVM through the Raspberry Pi instead? Does the splash screen not show up at all anymore, even when completely disconnected from the Raspberry Pi?

    Best,

    Maxine

  • yes. When connected to 5V, the LED on the DPM does not turn on and the splash screen does not turn on.
    Also, if the DLP and Raspberry Pi are not connected, a green light will come on indicating that the SD card has been recognized on the Raspberry Pi,
     but if they are connected together, the green light on the SD card will not turn on. Are there any countermeasures?
  • Hello Yeogyeong,

    Please measure the power rails from the PMIC on the DLPDLCR2000EVM. There is a chance that the PMIC sustained some damage when switching power supplies, causing a spike to occur.
