EKB-3P-DLP4500EVM: Getting an output trigger with video output from NIR Lightcrafter 4500

Thank you very much Alex. I thought "Video port" meant live. I'll just confirm with EKB that I can use that firmware (in case I made a mistake with identifying the hardware), but thank you for that as well.

The signal I'm projecting is reasonably complex and needs to be generated in real-time by a microprocessor. I can't generate it beforehand, and would ideally be updating it with every frame (hence part of the need for synchronisation).

Are you aware of a mechanism for reading out a sync signal (e.g. VSYNC) while displaying a signal received over HDMI?

I've upgraded the firmware etc. (thanks again) etc. but haven't found a way yet (hesitant in case I do something wrong!)

I was wondering whether there was perhaps a setting here I can adjust to get VSYNC in something like video mode?

I am not sure if I understand your question fully but are you looking for the vsync and hsync signals from the HDMI going into the DLPC350?

We do have testpoints of the vsync and hsync signals on the EVMs.

Essentially, I need the output of a computer, projected in IR, with a synchronised camera recording the projection.

Could I use testpoint TP2 to power a transistor to trigger a camera with a fixed exposure time to synchronise it? If so, may I ask about the ground, and whether there is a handy >3.3v power output that could be used to supply this transistor?

I'm seeing a nice clear VSYNC on TP2 with respect to J14's ground pins. I'll investigate the safest way to tap this to control a transistor to power the camera's trigger.
