Part Number: DLP9000
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , DLPC910, DLPC900

Tool/software:

Can somebody please help identify correct TI DMD product utilised in Barco residential projectors?

Outline spec is 2560 x 1600 resolution WQXGA 0.9" DMD

Thank you

  • Hi Stuart,

This sounds like one of our DLP9000 DMDs, but I am unable to tell you which revision and which one. There is also a DLP9000X.

May I ask why you require this information? This might be a question for Barco rather than TI, as we do not manufacturer their projectors. We provide them with the DMD.

    Regards,
    Michael Ly

  • The DLP9000 parts are Industrial/Light control parts that work with non-display controllers (DLPC900, DLPC910) that are used in applications like 3D printing, photo lithography, machine vision, etc..

The 0.9" WQXGA DMDs used in the Barco projectors are not DLP9000 parts; the DMDs they use are display parts driven by display controllers.  This DMD is not available on TI.com.

As Michael mentioned, we provide the parts and support for them to Barco; they design, build, and support the end products.  You will need to contact Barco for more information and support on their products.

    Regards,
    Gary

  • Hi Gary,

    Thank you for your response.

The reason for asking is that I am a Barco dealer and have a Barco projector with a failed DMD, a single white spot. It is out of warranty, the projector run time indicates only 700 odd hours of usage. Barco are asking a prohibitive amount for a new DMD/repair.

I am trying to determine the TI DMD exact model with a posibility of swapping it out myself at a much lower cost.

If you can help further I would be most grateful.

    Kindest Regards

    Stuart Payton

  • Stuart,

This particular part is not available to purchase on TI.com.  It is currently only sold to our DLP partners under development agreements and/or NDA.  Unfortunately, I don't think we have a way to make it available outside those agreements.

    Sorry for the bad news.

    Regards,
    Gary

  • Hello Gary,
    Thank you for your response.
Understood reference commercial agreements with Barco.
With the Barco DMD replacement cost being so prohibitively expensive along with very short DMD lifetime of less than 1000 hours, recommending any Barco projector using the WQXGA 0.9" DMD is impossible.
    Regards Stuart

  • Hi Stuart,

I'm sorry about your bad experience with this and that we were not able to help you further.

If you have any other questions in the future, though, we would love to try and help you out again.

    Regards,
    Michael Ly
