DLPC3470: Having an issue with updating the firmware on DLP2010EVM-LC via the GUI

Hello,

Recently started working on the EVM mentioned in the title.
Had got a driver installer that contained the Cypress USB adapter.

I recently updated the firmware on the board using the latest firmware from TI website because with the old firmware, I wasn't able to make any changes to the output of the board. After the update I am not able to make any changes to the board via I2C serial communication and I am not able to revert back to the old firmware.

Is there a possible fix?
How do I fix this?

Hello,

When connected to the EVM are you able to see a SPI connection made via the GUI as seen below?

If so, you should be able to try re flashing the firmware or even reverting to the previous version if you saved it. Otherwise we recommend following this guide (link).

So the SPI connection is not shown and I referred the documentation provided.
Apart from a physical flash using SOIC clip, are there other options via the GUI or other software based solutions?

Hi Jacob,

If the GUI is not making a connection with the EVM via I2C or SPI then it won't be able to communicate with it thus the need for an SOIC clip. You may also request an RMA if you are unable to solve this issue with a firmware update.

Thanks Maximus.
I'll try out the options available. I'll maybe also try out an I2C to SPI bridge since this EVM does not support SPI connection inherently.
