DLPC231S-Q1: DLPC231S-Q1 REFERENCE SCHEMATIC

Part Number: DLPC231S-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP4620SQ1EVM

Tool/software:

Could you share the reference schematic of DLPC231S-Q1 using ORCAD?

  • Hi Jin,

The reference schematic for the DLPC231S-Q1 is available as part of the reference design for our DLP4620SQ1EVM.

You may find the link here. Please download DLPR132.zip, which contains these design files.

EDIT: I am sorry, but the DLPC231 was only designed with Altium designer. We do not have this as an ORCAD design.

    Regards,
    Michael Ly

  • Hi again Jin,

I had a couple talks around the office today, and there is not a quick and easy solution to your question, unfortunately.

Here are a couple options that may be helpful:

    1. Use the DLP5530Q1EVM schematic and design files as a starting point for your project and edit as needed
    2. If you already have Altium Designer, another option is to use our reference design for the DMD and driver boards and manually convert the ORCAD schematics to Altium schematics
      1. These designs are less complex than the controller, so this may be a good option, but it is up to you and your team to decide which path you are able to go or willing to go.

I'm sorry we do not currently have this as an ORCAD schematic, however..

    Regards,
    Michael Ly

  • Hi Michael Ly,

As I know Altium can transfer to ORCAD schematic. Unfotunately we don't have Altium license, could yuo please transfer the DLPC231 schematic to ORCAD schematic?

I think you can find the way on googling like below link.

    www.altium.com/.../orcad-export

  • Hi Jin,

I was not aware of this tool! Let me see if my team and I can get this going, and I'll update you by the end of the week?

There is a chance we may have to play around with it more than once if it fails our first few tests. This would be very helpful for us, though!

Thank you for providing us with this resource. We will  test soon.

    Regards,
    Michael Ly

  • Could you let me know whether the DMPC231S-Q1 reference schematic can be transferred to ORCAD format?

  • Hi Jin,

Sorry, please allow me until next week to get this for you if it is possible. I've had to jump through a few obstacles to use our Altium Designer tool this week.
I found an option in OrCAD to allow me to export these tools so long as the *.SchDoc file is in ASCII rather than binary format.

I would double-check the entire schematic to ensure all libraries were migrated properly. The easiest thing to immediately spot is the lack of NC indicators. I would cross-check the schematic *.pdf file to ensure all NCs are properly marked.

Again, sorry this is taking a while longer. I will get back next week, but I ask that you verify the files when you receive them. We cannot guarantee the tool fully works, as we have seen with the NC pins already.

    Regards,
    Michael Ly

  • I only need DLC231S-Q1 library in your schematic. So If Ref No U2(DLPC231)  is okay, then please share it us.

  • Hi Jin,

Okay, let me see if we are able to convert the library in that case.

    Regards,
    Michael Ly

  • Hi again Jin,

I have sent you a friend request on E2E so I can share with you a *.olb file.

I have been unable to find a single library for just the DLPC231, but instead have been able to export the project library. May you see if this works? You may need to do some verification on your side to ensure everything works as intended until I find out if there is a single library for the DLPC231 part.

    Regards,
    Michael Ly

  • Hi Michael Ly

I accepted your request, please share *.olb file, then I will check with my co-woker.

    Kindly regards,

    Jin

  • Hi Jin,

I have sent you the unverified *.dsn and *.olb files. Please reach out if these do not work, and I'll see if there is anything that can be done.

    Regards,
    Michael Ly
