DLP4710EVM-LC: DLP4710EVM-LC external pattern flickering

Part Number: DLP4710EVM-LC

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am experiencing issues with the external pattern streaming mode on the DLP4710EVM. Despite adjusting the pre-exposure, exposure, and post-exposure times, the projected screen continues to flicker and appears distorted. I have already updated the firmware, but the problem persists.

Could you please provide guidance on how to resolve this issue?

Thank you.

  • Hello Mark,

Could you please screenshot and share your external video timings/settings? Can you also explain in a little more detail the issue you are seeing? Is it just a flickering image or are you seeing image corruption as well?

    Best,

    Maximus

  • Hello Maximus,

The device functions correctly when displaying external video; however, issues arise when switching to external pattern streaming. I've followed the recommended parameter ranges outlined in the "DLP4710EVM-LC v8.3.0 Release Notes," but the problem persists across different settings. For your reference, I have attached a screenshot illustrating the issue.

The symptoms include both flickering and corrupted images.
    Thank you,

  • Hi Mark,

The flickering is most likely due to the image being shown at ~49 Hz. The image corruption however may be due to a mismatch in display size. Please make sure your PC is set to 1920x1080p resolution for the projector as all image processing is bypassed in LC mode and it will display the data how it is received.

    Best,

    Maximus
