DMD chip with diamond-shape pixels - continued

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP5500

I accidently verified the answer for my previous post and thus closed that thread. Please refer to the same title posted on 10-03-2011 2:25pm.

We would like to develop our application using an off-the-shelf projector with square-shape pixels. Do you know what series (in terms of size, resolution, etc.) of DMD chipsets will have the diamond shape pixels that we can avoid? Is there any disclosed information from Ti website we can review? I hope Ti would not totally replace the square shape with the diamond shape. Thanks

  • Jiahu,

I have sent you a friend request so that we can continue to discuss your question off the forum. I need to research your question and I will need to know more about your project/application.

    Best regards,

  • I need this information too.. Can you please add send me a friend request too?

    Thank you!

  • Jonathan,

I can't tell you any more about the DMDs than is available from our website (http://ti.com/mems) for our catalog parts DLP1700 and DLP5500. Our DLP Design Houses can tell you about the 0.55", 0.7" and 0.95" DMDs which are supported by our Discovery D4100 kit. I can not tell you any more about DMDs which are used in OEM projectors. You could try contacting the manufacturer of a projector, but I doubt that they will give you detailed information about the DMD which they use - other than the specifications of their projector.

If you have a specific project which you would like to discuss in private, then please let me know.

    Best regards,

    Pascal
