DLP4710: Temperature Range & Shock Resistance

Part Number: DLP4710

Tool/software:

  1. The operating temperature range of the DLP4710 (most DLP products) is indicated from 0 - 70° C. Are there any products with a larger temperature range (especially to subzero temperatures at around -20° C)?
  2. How shock-resistant are the DMDs? Have there been tests like vibration or shock testing made in the automotive industry?
  • Hello Ramon,

    1. We run shock, vibration and acceleration test to qualify DMD production process. For shock test we do 1500G peak acceleration in 0.5ms pulses along each axis. For vibration we do a simple harmonic motion with peak acceleration of 20G in each axis, and for acceleration test we do 10,000G constant for 60 seconds in the Y axis (perpendicular to the die plane).

    2. We have automotive qualified chips such at the DLP2021-Q1 and DLP3031-Q1 which both can range in temperature from -40-105 C.

    Best,

    Maximus
