DLPDLCR2000EVM: What is the function of VINTF pin of the DLPDLCR2000EVM, and is it safe to plup the VDD3V3 of BBB into it?

Part Number: DLPDLCR2000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLPC2607

Tool/software:

Hi,

I want to use BBB(Beaglebone Black) to control the DLPDLCR2000EVM and I follow this post(https://community.element14.com/products/roadtest/rv/roadtest_reviews/292/dlp_pico_display_pro_3#jive_content_id_Bonus_Combined_with_Raspberry_Pi_3B).

Before connecting the EVM to BBB, I did some tests and I got 1.831V on VINTF pin of the EVM.

However, when connecting the EVM to BBB, VINTF pin corresponds to the VDD3v3 on BBB, does it matter? Won't it burn out?

  • Hello Annan,

The VINTF pin is used to define the DLPC2607's interface voltage for I2C. The DLPC2607 will not know what I2C level to detect unless this pin is driven. This pin should be connected to either 3.3V or 5V, so it's fine to connect VDD3V3 on BBB.

    Regards,

    Lori
