DLPM2000EVM: Optical details related to lens requirements

Part Number: DLPM2000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP2000

Tool/software:

Hello, I'm working on a project where I'm designing a replacement lens for a DLP2000. My goal is to replace the projection lens with a custom-designed relay lens, and I noticed that there is a lens right in front of the DMD that affects both the illumination beam and the beam reflected off of the DMD. My questions are:

- Is the lens right in front of the DMD critical to the illumination? Or can it be removed without significantly affecting the DMD illumination?

- If the lens right in front of the DMD is necessary to keep in place, can the prescription (material, radii of curvature) be shared with me so that I can include it in my custom lens design?

- When designing the custom lens, how do I account for the DMD offset %?

Thank you for your help!

  • Hello User,

Unfortunately we were not involved in the design of this optical engine and do not know the optical prescription.

Young Optics Incorporated is the one who designed the optical engine you can try reaching out to them for details or further questions.
