8 Bit grayscale over DVI in Structured Light Mode

Hallo together,

I've connected the LightCommander HDMI port to a second DVI port of the PCs Nvidia Quadro 570  graphics card. Video signal of this port is set to 1024 x 768 @60Hz 8bit. I use only Blue LED. I was hoping the LightCommander would be able to project the same as what I see on my monitor. I want to use LightCommander in Structured Light Mode because I need LED Illumination Time(Camera Exposure Time) option. But in this Mode the LightCommander doesn't show me all grayscale Values.

How can I project all Grayscale between 0-255?
Do I need a monochromatic light (light either red, blue, green) for my display monitor to use Structures Light Mode?

On this Webseite you can see some Result in Video and Structured Light

If anyone can supply a quick newbie's guide to getting this to work, I would be most grateful.

Many thanks

Marek

  • Hi Marek,

Welcome to DLP & MEMS forum.

Thanks for sharing the picture; it makes to understand the problem better.

    Few things -

    1) Please try setting 3 frame/pattern. Let us know the difference in the result as compared to 1 frame/pattern.

    2) 24 frame/pattern NOT a valid setting for 8bit gray scale structured light processing.

    Regards,
