Hello Cherry,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Can you find the Cheetah Adapter in your Device Manager? If not, please download the drivers for the Cheetah SPI to USB adapter from https://www.totalphase.com/products/usb-drivers/
Thank you,
With regards,
Aishwarya
Hello Aishwarya,
Yes,I can find the Cheetah Adapter in my Device Manager and it works well. Also I can find it in the control program, but also exists communication error.
Cherry,
Few suggestions:
Thank you,
Regards,
Aishwarya
Aishwarya,
Yes
1.the system is powered on,and the Projector ON switch turned on.
2.OK,I will check it right now
Hi Cherry,
Do you need more time to get those updates to us or have you found a solution?
If so, please let us know. Thank you!

Hi Michael,
Yes,I need more time to comfirm this information and I wanna try again to find whether I can find a solution.
Thank you!
Hello Michael,
I hope this message finds you well.
I make a checklist and step by step to check the issue is,and finally I find the problem is the DMD board is damaged which causes a disconnection between the cheetah and my PC,so I can't use my PC to control the module and change the image pattern. So there exsits a communication error as shown below.
So,the next time I will chage another one DMD board to try again, any progress I will feedback to you. thanks!
Best & Regards
Cherry Liang
Hi Cherry,
May you please try the following?
I also see a lot of thermal paste on the image you shared. Is there any chance this DMD has been reseated many times or at least one other time in the past?
If so, I would make sure that none of the pins get thermal paste on them. This can cause major connection issues if inserted into the DMD socket. If the socket gets any thermal paste in it, it may become difficult to clean out and make proper connections with DMD pins in the future. Please make sure this is always checked and cleaned when reseating or installing new DMDs.

Michael Ly
Hi Michael,
Sorry for the late reply, these days I'am working on another project so I have no time to update the progress of verification information.
Updating as follows:
1.I have followed the steps as you describle, when I used Connection tab in the DLPC230 Control Program, the system mode go to communication error,so the SPI cable doesn't work.
2.The next time I intend to change a new one DMD & a new one SPI cable to try again.
3.Yes,the DMD was inserted and unplugged at least two times, but every time when I unplug it I will change a new one piece of thermal pad ensure of enough
heat dissipation, and by checking the DMD socket there is no thermal paste in it and in the future I will keep it in my mind(make sure the DMD socket is always checked and cleaned when reseating or installing new DMDs. Thanks for reminding.
I hope the DMD board is OK,otherwise it will take a long time to make a new one.
Thank for the information you advise,I will update the verification information ASAP maybe I can finish this week, pls wait my good news!
Best & Regards
Cherry Liang
Cherry,
No worries, I completely understand. Do you happen to have a second SPI adapter cable (the grey one)?
Is there a chance this cable is not working as intended and can use a spare instead?
One solution that I prefer is the following SPI cable adapter, which I have had much more success with.
DLP060A_SPI_Adapter_Board.zip
Notice the left black connector allows for direct Cheetah connection at J4. The white connector on the right (J3) allows the user to connect to the EVM. A separate wire harness is needed, however.

Michael Ly
Michael,
I don't have a second SPI adapter cable at present,so the next time I will try to control it according to your advice,I hope it can success
The white connector on the right (J3) ,is that one as follows?

Cherry,
This information should be in the bill of materials in the zipped file I gave you. These boards are small and do not cost much.
The connector on the SPI Adapter Board is 5015680707, and the embedded link I sent should show what connector properly mates with the SPI Board adapter. In this case, the part number is 5013300700, which looks like what you have!
The TI DLP5530Q1EVM uses the connector 5013310707, which I found in the BOM of the EVM. This also works with the 5013300700.
This means the wire harness uses the 5013300700 on both ends! Just be sure to match the pin out from the SPI Adapter Board to the DLP5530Q1EVM correctly. Hopefully all the numbers don't cause confusion. Let me know if any other help is required--I'm happy to help!

Michael,
Very detailed,I completely understand, thank you so much!
In fact,I have the materials in the zipped file that you gave me,which you can find in the picture below.
Don't worry about it,I got it.And I have the wire harness uses the 5013300700 on both ends,it matches the pin out from the SPI Adapter Board to the DLP5530Q1EVM correctly,I will try to control the EVM again and confirm the system mode goes to standby or goes to communication error.
Hopefully everything can solve!
"Let me know if any other help is required--I'm happy to help!" Thanks a lot and your patience!
Michael,
I have a good news and wanna share to you immediately!
Fortunately,I'm a lucky girl,I use the SPI cable adapter that you suggest to control the EVM today morning, firstly the system communication mode goes to standby and then goes to dispay,I can get the system temperature now and it goes well now.
Everything is solved! I can change any image patern and display it throught the module.
Thanks all your help these times, and Happy the Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow!

Cherry Liang
Cherry,
That's awesome!! I'm very happy that it was just a simple issue with the cable and not something else.
Thank you for the good wishes!
