DLPA2000: How is the load switch used, and is it necessary to operate the DMD?

Part Number: DLPA2000
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP3010

Tool/software:

page 24 of DLPA2000 data sheet says: "As required by the DMD data sheet, LS_OUT must stay above 1.65 V until VOFS, VRST, and VBIAS have discharged to their required safe levels.", but I can't find any information about this in the DLP3010 (DMD) data sheet.

Also are the temp and light sensors necessary for proper function? I don't have a use for these signals in my design.

  • Hello User,

LS_OUT is a 1.8V output from DLPA2000 to system load. It needs to be stay above 1.65V to let DMD voltages VOFS, VRST, and VBIAS have normal shut down. If LS_OUT suddenly drops below about 1.3V, then VOSF, VRST, and VBIAS would go into fast shut down which protect DMD get damage.

The light sensor and temperature sensor are optional.

    Regards,

    Lori
